PURPOSE: To obtain a new triazine derivative useful for controlling parasite protozoans on small animals such as house mouse and guinea pig, birds, fresh water fishes, saltwater fishes, etc., especially protozoans difficult to control, e.g. coccidia. CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [a ring A is a (substituted) aromatic group; X is O or S; R<1> and R<6> are each H, a (substituted) hydrocarbon residue which may be bonded through a hetero atom; R<2> and R<3> are each H, a halogen, etc.; R<4> and R<5> are H, a halogen, etc., R<1> and R<2> , and R<5> and R<6> together may form a direct bond, respectively; when the ring A is a phenyl having a halogen at least either one position of 2- and 4-positions and X is O, R<5> and R<6> together do not form a direct bond] or its salt, e.g. 2-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-5-methoxy-1,2,4-triazin-3 (2H)-one. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II, formula III or formula IV [R<7> is a (substituted) amino] (L is an eliminable group) to cyclization reaction. |
