PURPOSE: To obtain an antiulcer agent free from side effect by using a peptide derived from a lactoferrin and having a specific amino acid sequence as an active component. CONSTITUTION: This antiulcer agent contains >=0.1mg, preferably >=1mg (based on 1g of the agent) of a peptide having the amino acid sequence of formula I, formula II, formula III, etc., a peptide derivative, a peptide salt or a mixture of two or more kinds of the above compounds as an active component. The peptide can be produced e.g. by separating from a decomposition product of lactoferrin. It can be formed to an oral drug by conventional method or included in a food to obtain a functional food having the action of an antiulcer agent. It is producible in a mass and stable as a drug because of its heat-resistance, water-solubility and stability in an aqueous solution. Since peptide has antimicrobial action, it does not necessitate the use of an antiseptic agent in preparation. |
