PURPOSE: To enhance vol. decreasing treatment efficiency while preventing the generation of harmful gas and reducing running cost by arranging a plurality of stirring projections to the inner peripheral surface of the tapered heat generating and vol. decreasing opening part of a waste plastic vol. decreasing treatment apparatus at a predetermined interval. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of key-shaped liners 5 having stirring projections 5-1 are provided on the inner peripheral surface of the heat generating and vol. decreasing opening 1-1 of a vol. decreasing treatment container 1 at an equal interval. The waste plastic sent under pressure by the screw shaft 3 in the vol. decreasing treatment container 1 is sent into the gap between the inner peripheral surface of the heat generating and vol. decreasing opening 1-1 and a taper rotor 4 to be rotated in a pressure contact state. The stirring and kneading of the waste plastic are accelerated by the chipping action of the projections 5-1 and the action of semicircular grooves 7 and friction heat is generated to be transmitted to the plastic to sufficiently heat and soften the plastic and vol. decreasing effect and efficiency is enhanced.
