PURPOSE: To realize accident prevention at a ceiling or the like at the time of indoor high place work under a low height level condition by stopping the motive power source of an ascent/descent mechanism by means of a control means, in a case in which the detection response value of the inclination angle of an arm by means of an inclination meter has become more than the designation response value of a designated work height by means of a setting means. CONSTITUTION: The height level H of the work stand 3 of a high lift work vehicle 1 and the inclination angleθof the arm of the upper boom 4 or the lower boom 5 or the like of an ascent/descent mechanism 8 are in the relationship of proportion. By means of a setting switch 13, and by means of the appropriate height level H of less than the maximum work height, (for example, commensurate with a low ceiling or the like) the designated work height of the work stand 3 is designated, and the ex post facto detection of the inclination angleθof the lower boom 5 is realized by means of an inclination meter 14. In the case in which the detection response value of the inclination angleθof the lower boom 5 by means of the inclination meter 14 has become more than the designation value of the designated work height by means of the setting switch 13, the drive source 7 of the ascent/descent mechanism 8 is stopped by means of a control means. Accordingly, accidents relative to the work stand 3 and the ceiling or the like can be avoided.
