<p>PURPOSE: To provide a liquid-center type thread-wound golf ball that can increase the carry by setting a specific range for the amount of a liquid sealed inside a center bag, and setting the water content of the liquid at not less than some specific percent of the total amount of the liquid. CONSTITUTION: This thread-wound golf ball 1 is formed by a liquid center 4 comprising a center bag 2 with a liquid 3 sealed therein, a spool layer 5, and a cover 6, and the volume of the liquid 3 sealed inside the center bag 2 is 8 to 12cm<3> and the water content of the liquid 3 is not less than 50wt.% of the total amount of the liquid. When the volume of the sealed liquid 3 is less than 8cm<3> , resiliency decreases; when the volume is greater than 12cm<3> , the diameter of the center increases and the appropriate ball hardness cannot be obtained, with the center becoming more likely to deform during winding of yarn. When the proportion of water in the liquid 3 is less than 50wt.%, the resiliency of the ball decreases. The size and weight of the spool golf ball can be made to conform to golf regulations.</p> |
