A movable element is coupled to the free end of a tubular rod (5) sliding in a fixed guide (4) of an extensible jack (3) driven by a belt (6) from a drum (8) on the output shaft of a redn. gear (9) coupled to an endless-thread screw (10) and an electric motor (11).The drive is mounted in a floating manner on a support with e.g. three elastomeric shear-deformable studs (12). When the belt becomes slack, reactive torque is removed from the motor casing which opens a contactor (13) to cut off the power supply.
