PURPOSE: To restrain generation of cracks, to obtain excellent heat resistant cycle characteristics, initial voltage characteristics and good heat generating characteristics by specifying and forming the opening part area of a reinforcing sheet of an electrolytic plate. CONSTITUTION: A fused carbonate fuel cell is formed by arranging an electrolytic plate between an anode and a cathode of porous forming bodies. In the electrolytic plate, matrix sheets are formed of an electrolyte, a holding body and a reinforcing member. A ceramic reinforcing sheet provided with a plurality of opening parts each of which has the area 2 to 2000mm<2> is interposed between two matrix sheets. Two matrix sheets are connected to and integrated with each other by the matrix component filled into the opening parts of the reinforcing sheet, to form the electrolytic plate of a laminated body. The generation of cracks when raising or lowering 4 the temperature is restrained by this electrolytic plate, and the resistance is avoided from increasing caused by corrosion of the reinforcing sheet, and excellent heat resistant cycle characteristics and the initial voltage characteristics can be obtained.
