摘要 PURPOSE: To reduce the number of optical wavelengths in an optical signal required for the optcial wavelength multiplex network system. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a network controller 10 equipped with a path management storage part 20 for storing the information of a desired communication band for each node pair of all the paths, optical path management storage part 21 for storing the information on the optical wavelength band of the optical wavelengh between nodes, path model constructor 26 for constucting the model of a shortest path for each optical wavelength with the remaining capacity of an optical path stored in the optical path management storage part 21 or an optical link stored in the optical link management storage part 22 as weight, and computing element for calculating the shortest distance between end points corresponding to the terminal node pair of the path outputted from the path management storage part 20 while using the model corresponding to each optical wavelength and outputting that distance to the path management storage part 20. Then, the remaining capacity is subtracted from the optical path by applying an instruction from the path management storage part 20 to the optical path management storage part 21 so that the remaining capacity can be decreased from the optical path allocated to a path to be an object just for the communication band of that path.
