PURPOSE: To automatically and quickly inspect bar codes at four places printed on a carton in a print process by providing a discontinuous spatial part on a conveyer line at a place where an inspecting means is arranged and forming the inspecting means with a specific scanner. CONSTITUTION: The bar codes at two places printed on the lower face of a folded carton 1 are inspected by two scanners 6c, 6d from the lower side of the discontinuous spatial part, and the bar codes at two places printed on the upper face by two scanners 6a, 6b can be inspected from the upper side. Since the bar code can be detected by a pair scanners 6 on the lower side as well as a pair of scanners on the upper side via a space where no equivalent obstruction exists, a problem of adverse effect due to reflected light generated in the case that such structure to interpose a transparent plate temporarily between the scanner 6 and the carton 1 is employed can be evaded, which enables the bar code to accurately and quickly be inspected. |
