PURPOSE: To improve communication quality by providing a decision error correcting method for removing a misdecision in a communication system having a decision part for obtaining an original message from a reception signal. CONSTITUTION: When the output signal of a receiver does not position in a boundary area and the output signal can be relied, switches S1 and S2 are interrupted, a buffer 54 and an error distance sum calculation part 55 are not used. A decision circuit 53 calculates an error following simple desision, inputs it to the receiver through a data line D and updates the tap coefficient of the receiver. In such a case, the receiver operates in the same way as a usual receiver. When the output of the receiver is positioned in the boundary area and the output signal cannot be relied, an error value considering all the adjacent symbols of the output y(k) of the receiver is calculated in the decision circuit 53 and an error distance is calculated. Since the switches S1 and S2 are in a state where all are connected, the respective error distances calculated in the decision circuit 53 are respectively fed back to the error distance sum calculation part 55. |
