PURPOSE: To provide a detection object extract processing unit without mis- detection by which a detection object is accurately extracted without being affected by illuminance fluctuation in an environment with illuminance fluctuation and without losing the characteristic of the detection object. CONSTITUTION: The processing unit is made up of an external control type iris lens 1, a television camera 2, an A/D converter section 3, a reference image fetch processing section 4, a sample image fetch processing section 5, a differential processing section 6, a background discrimination processing section 7, an aperture control command section 8, and a D/A converter section 9. A control command making average contrast gradation of a background extracted by the differential processing section 6 with average contrast gradation of a reference image is given to a control input of an iris lens. Thus, an accurate detection object is extracted. |
