Preparation of ethanol by fermentation of carbohydrates comprises purification of the sugar solution intended for fermentation in order to remove substances that disrupt the formation of ethanol. - An adsorption method using active carbon, zeolite, silica gel or alumina is used to purify the sugar solution, which is filtered through a filter containing at least 1 of these adsorbent materials or which is mixed with at least 1 of these materials to form a slurry. |
