Material handling fork with integral weighing

The fork (1) comprise an L shaped body (2) and an integral weighing plate (4). The weighing plate (4) is attached to the fork body (2) by two torsion bars (25) (26). One inboard torsion bar (26) pivoting (27, 28) about the fork body slides within a guide (30) fixed to the weighing plate (4).A second torsion bar (25) is located at the end of the body (2) and pivoted to both the body and the weighing plate (27, 28). The weighing plate may therefore move up and down and longitudinally but is restrained from rotation. The load being borne is measured by pressure sensors (13) in sliding contact with weighing plate.
