PURPOSE: To realize a KARAOKE system which is used as an on demand communication KARAOKE employing an analog communication line. CONSTITUTION: This system consists of a center 10 which compresses caption sequence data including character codes for caption display indicating a title screen and lyrics and playing sequence data including playing information, accumulates them as compressed data and transmits the compressed data that are requested for transmission through an analog communication line 20 and a terminal 30 which makes a request for transmission to the center 10 through the line 20, expands the compressed data transmitted from the center 10, separates the data into caption sequence data and playing sequence data, generates video signals for the caption display in accordance with the caption sequence data and performs the playing in accordance with the playing information included in the playing sequence data. |
