PURPOSE: To realize such a range-finding action that accurate FM arithmetic operation is within the latitude range of a loaded film even in the case of a wide angle. CONSTITUTION: This automatic focusing camera is provided with a film sensitivity detection part 4 reading the plural pieces of information on the photographic film, a stroboscopic light emission part 10 whose emitted light quantity can be controlled, an exposure part 11 setting an exposure state including the information whether the light emission part 10 is used or not and the information whether a photographing action is the trimming photographing action or not and a range-finding part 7 executing the range-finding of an object distance by the luminous flux of an object transmitted through a photographing lens. Then, the range-finding frequency of the range-finding part 7 is set by a control part 14 based on at least any one of the information on the focal distance of the photographing lens, the information on the object distance, the plural pieces of information on the film, the emitted light quantity of a stroboscope and the exposure state. |
