PURPOSE: To prevent the local overheating of the bottom surface and the like of a cooking vessel such as an oven or the like by a method wherein the rated amount of combustion of a range is specified so as to be smaller than the total sum of respective rated amounts of combustion of a plurality of burners and forming places of flames are made variable timely by selecting the switching of a proper number of burners to be burnt at every proper times. CONSTITUTION: A range is constituted so that a plurality of high-load combustion burners 1a-1e are installed while arraying a multitude of flame ports 2 thereof on one plane and the rated amount of combustion of the range is specified so as to be smaller than the total sum of rated amounts of combustion of respective burners 1a-1e while a proper number is selected among a plurality of burners 1a-1e to switch at every proper times, whereby the flame ports 2 of forming flame can be made variable timely. According to this method, heat is transferred to the bottom or side surface or the like of a cooking vessel 3 such as an oven or the like efficiently at all times through radiation and convection whereby the local overheating of the bottom surface of the like of the cooking vessel 3 can be prevented.
