MAIL ADDRESS DESIGNATION METHOD

PURPOSE: To eliminate a need for a user to enter pushbuttons requiring a complicated operation and to memorize the correspondence between an alphanumeric Kana (Japanese syllabary) and a push button by converting a received tone signal string into a mail address comprising an alphanumeric Kana special symbol. CONSTITUTION: This method is provided with a gateway device 10 to enter image data to the mail system, a facsimile equipment 20 to enter the image data, an MHS electronic mail system 30 processing characters and images as the mail system, and an address transmitter 40 converting the mail address into a tone signal and sending the signal. Then a mail address comprising an alphanumeric Kana special symbol stored and displayed with a simple operation by an existing telephone set or facsimile equipment is converted into a tone signal string and the signal is outputted as a tone signal string by an output request from an input procedure device. The tone string is received by the gateway device 10, which converts the tone string into the mail address comprising the alphanumeric Kana special symbol and received information is delivered to the mail address.
