PURPOSE: To make the patrol processing of a storage device independent of CPU and to reduce the load of CPU by providing a central processing unit and a storage device control processor for executing switch-controls of a multiplexed storage device and the patrol processing of the storage device. CONSTITUTION: An access request from CPU 1 is transmitted to the storage device controlling processor 3 through the common bus 2 of a computer control system. The storage device control processor 3 receiving the access request accesses the storage devices 5a and 5b through storage device-only buses 4a and 4b. The result of the access or data which are read from the storage devices 5a and 5b are transferred to CPU 1 and the other device through the common bus of the computer control system. When the access request of the storage device is not given from CPU 1, the storage device control processor 3 sequentially executes the patrol processing of the respective storage devices 5a and 5b. Thus, the load of CPU is reduced and the delay of a control processing can be removed. |
