<p>PURPOSE: To recover most of ash content as lumps of molten ash by burning pulverized coal under pressurizing or oxygen enriching condition, making molten ash of most of particles of coal ash in a combustion flame and making the molten ash fall down into a water reservoir disposed on a bottom portion of a combustion furnace. CONSTITUTION: Pulverized coal from a burner 3 is blown and burnt in a combustion chamber 2 of a combustion furnace 1 under pressurizing or oxygen enriching condition. At this time, a combustion temperature may be around a fusing point of coal ash plus 150 deg.C. In this combustion, particles of coal ash in a combustion flame decreases in flying speed, or a flame itself decreases in size to increase frequency in particles of coal ash colliding with one another, so that coal particles collecting together in the combustion flame increases their gravity when or during melting, thus falling down against an ascending current caused by a combustion exhaust gas. Then the coal particles pass through a slug tap 5 to flow down into a water reservoir 6 disposed on a bottom portion 4 of the combustion furnace 1, and are taken out as lumps of molten ash from a rock hopper 7.</p> |
