PURPOSE: To provide a display device using FEAs capable of enabling the light emission of picture elements in a non-scanning period and realizing high luminance display. CONSTITUTION: On an FEA substrate 10, n×n pieces of the FEAs 1ij respectively corresponding to the picture elements are matrix-arrayed. FETs Q1ij for current control are interposed in the current paths of the FEAs 1ij of the respective picture elements and capacitors Cij for holding a voltage are provided in the gates. The FETs Q2ij for switching are provided in the gates of the FETs Q1ij for current control, the gates are connected to scanning lines Yj in common in a row direction and drains are connected to data lines Xi in common in a train column direction.
