PURPOSE: To continuously adjust a reproducing speed of a sound signal and to reduce required storage capacity. CONSTITUTION: An input sound signal buffer section 2 reads data from a sound signal recording section 1. A pitch extracting section 3 calculates a pitch period S1c. The input sound signal buffer section 2 transfers sound data of two times as much as the pitch period S1c for arithmetic processing S1e to a data operation section 5 from the leading address and performs, windowing processing sound data S1f is transferred making an address of the pitch period S1c the leading. The input sound signal buffer section 2 outputs data of five times as much as the pitch period S1c from an address of 'Pitch period S1c + processing start position'. Then, deficient data is newly read out of a sound signal recording section 1 by an instruction of a processing control section 4, and transferred to an output sound signal frame buffer 6 without performing extracting a pitch and arithmetic processing.
