PURPOSE: To improve the detection accuracy of an optical fiber sensor by applying a resin having the refractive index approximately equal to the refractive index of optical fibers on the respective end faces which are the incident faces and exit faces of plural pieces of the optical fibers, thereby flattening the end faces. CONSTITUTION: The variation which is not caused by the defect of glass occurs in the quantity of the light received by a photodetector and the exact detection is no longer possible if there is a significant deference in the unequal light quantity of the respective optical fibers of the optical fiber array of a line sensor. Accordingly, in the line sensor a resin 10 having the refractive index approximately equal to the refractive index of the optical fibers 5 of the optical fiber array is applied on the end faces on the exit face side (the side facing the photodetector) of the respective fibers 5 of the optical fiber array. If the resin 10 is applied on the end faces of the respective optical fibers 5 in such a manner, the resin intrudes into a chipping part 5a when such a chipping part 5a arises at the time of polishing, etc., at the end face of, for example, the certain optical fiber 5, thereby, the flat end face 6a is obtd. when viewed over the entire part of the end faces of the respective optical fibers 5. |
