PURPOSE: To obtain a coil manufacturing apparatus which prevents a strand from being damaged due to a slip and whose operability is enhanced by a method wherein, while required tension is being given to a strand, the strand is fed and, even when the winding diameter of a reel is changed, tension according the diameter is given to the strand. CONSTITUTION: A strand 9 is set on a tension feed device 1 so as to be fed up to a feed device 6 which prevents the strand 9 from being buckled. Then, the strand 9 is set on the feed device 6, and the strand 9 is fed up t a winding mold 4 by both feed devices 1, 6. Then, an air cylinder 7 which moves the feed device 6 up and down is shrunk, and the feed device 6 is separated from the strand 9. Then, the strand 9 is attached to the winding mold 4, and the winding mold 4 is turned so as to take up the strand 9. When the winding mold 4 comes within a range of ±30 deg. from the vertical position, an adhesive is supplied from adhesive applying machines 2, 23 arranged near the respective feed devices 1, 6, and the strand 9 is coated with the adhesive. When the winding operation of a coil is finished by the winding mold 4, a cutter part for a cutting device 5 is made to protrude to the front side, the strand 9 is cut and the winding operation of one coil is finished. |
