PURPOSE: To protect parts having strong possibilities of causing dielectric breakdown and deterioration of performance, such as a laser diode mounted on a pickup, etc., against discharge of high voltage from the outside. CONSTITUTION: The pickup 18 is constituted to be brought into elastic contact with a ground spring 76 when the pickup 18 is in a standby position or approximately in a position capable of reading a TOC area on a disk. By this constitution, whenever the pickup 18 is moved into the standbly position, it is connected to ground, so that an electric charge retained by discharging high voltage from the outside can be escaped to the outside, and a danger to dielectric breakdown of the laser diode, etc., can be dissolved. |
