PURPOSE: To quickly transmit a normal image without performing a retransmission processing even if a transmission error is generated by performing double correction codings for image data. CONSTITUTION: A transmission device 1 is provided with compression means 11, 12 and 13 compressing image data to be transmitted, an error coding means 21 performing the error correction coding for a random error and the error correction coding for a burst error for the compressed image data. A reception device 2 is provided with a reception means 10 (7) receiving image data, an error decoding means 22 performing the error correction decoding for the random error and the error correction decoding for the burst error for received image data, and elongation means 14, 15 and 16 elongating the image data for which the error correction decoding is performed. The system compresses image data, transmits the image data from the transmission side device 1 to the reception side device 2 and performs the self-correction for the transmission error based on the correction code in the reception side device 2. |
