<p>PURPOSE: To completely polymerize a light-shielding film by patterning a photosensitive resin to form a mask and forming a light-shielding film comprising a thermosetting resin which covers the electrode except for pixels. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device consists of two insulating substrates having electrodes and a liquid crystal layer in which the area where electrodes overlap with each other is used as a pixel. After the electrode 19 is formed, a thermosetting resin 22 as a binder in which a pigment having a specified light-shielding function is dispersed is applied on the insulating substrate 20 and then a photosensitive resin 23 and an oxygen-shielding resin 24 are deposited thereon in this order. Then the photosensitive resin 23 is patterned to form a mask, which is then used to form a light-shielding film comprising the thermosetting resin 22 which covers the electrode except for pixels. Thereby, the light-shielding film can be completely polymerized and elusion of impurities in the resin can be suppressed. Further, by forming the photosensitive resin on the thermosetting resin 22, the thermosetting resin 22 can be patterned.</p> |
