PURPOSE: To provide an uninterruptible system switching method which can perform the switching of systems with no interruption and high reliability with a simple and small-scale constitution. CONSTITUTION: An uninterruptible system switching method consists of a switching control circuit 1 which performs the system switching control, a transmitting block 3 which sends the input main signals to both working and stand-by processing blocks, a 0-system processing block 5 and a 1-system processing block 7 which operate as the working or stand-by systems, and a receiving block 9 which selects and outputs one of main signals sent from both blocks 5 and 7. Then the block 3 is provided with a signal memory FIFO 32 which can store the largest number of cells that can be stored in the internal buffers of both blocks 5 and 7. Thus the idle cells are accumulated in these buffers while the main signals are stored in the FIFO 32 in a system switching mode. So that no effective information remains in the buffers and the duplication or the omission of cells can be prevented for the switching of systems.
