PURPOSE: To provide a video telephone codec device which is capable of connecting a video telephone codec device with plural terminals. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a network interface circuit 24 connected with a communication line L, a multiplex separation circuit 23 multiplexing or separating image data and voice data, an image codec circuit 21 coding or decoding an image signal, a voice codec circuit 22 coding or decoding the voice signal, a terminal interface circuit 20 for bi-directionally connecting the first to the nth terminals 17 to 19, the image codec circuit 21 and the voice codec circuit 22 and a control circuit 25 making the terminal interface circuit 20 perform the connections of any terminal, the image codec circuit 21 and the voice codec circuit 22 when the response of any terminal to the originating call or the incoming call of any terminal exists. |
