PURPOSE: To make it possible to set/manage data the kind and image size of the external character pattern data to be formed with a document editing device having external characters. CONSTITUTION: An external character type face id51, data attribute information 52 and size 53 of bit map data are included in external character management information. Data attribute information 52 indicates whether this external character set is outline data or bit map data. The size 53 of the bit map data is data indicating the size in the case of the bit map data. An operator is able to assign the (p) data described above to a desired value in the case of edition of the external character pattern and, therefore, the character patterns meeting output media are formable/editable without being restricted by the data kind of master type faces. |
