PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head which is lowered in inductance and is improved in recording and reproducing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: First and second sloping parts 20, 21 which are in successive contact at an angle in a range of 35 to 70 deg. with gap forming surfaces 19a, 19b of first and second cores 9, 10 are formed on the first and second cores 9, 10 and the difference in the depth size of gap forming surfaces 19a, 19b are set at <=10μm. Thick parts projecting inward are formed in the inner peripheral corner parts of the first and second cores 9, 10. The magnetic resistance in the first and second sloping parts 20, 21 is increased and leakage fluxes are decreased and, therefore, the inductance is made low and the reproduced output is improved. The stress concentration to the inner peripheral corner parts does not arise and cracking is prevented at the time of molding the first and second cores 9, 10 by providing the inner peripheral corner parts with the thick parts. In addition, the excessive magnetic flux concentration and the leakage of the magnetic flux are prevented and the recording and reproducing efficiency is improved. |
