PURPOSE: To easily discriminate whether document elements are completed or not and prevent an essential document element from not being inserted forgetfully by deciding and displaying whether or not the structure of document elements is proper when the document structured by nesting the document elements is handled. CONSTITUTION: A storage device 10 stores a document element detection program 11 which detects document elements, a document element structure check program 12 which checks the structure of the document elements, and a display program 13 and an auxiliary storage device 20 stores a generated SGML document original 21. Further, a storage device 30 stores document data 31 containing a document being created and a document element/display character string correspondence table 32 wherein incomplete document elements are registered. When a document element is inserted into the document data, the document element structure check program 12 is used to check the structure of the document element and when the structure matches structure definitions, the structure is considered to be adequate; and the document element is added to the document data, which are shaped and displayed again on a CRT 4 by using the display program 13. |
