PURPOSE: To reduce a rush current applied on a heating means used for a fixing means without increasing a cost as compared with a convensional one, as for an image forming device with a halogen heater. CONSTITUTION: As for the image forming device provided with a toner image forming means for forming the toner image by introducing an electrostatic recording system, a fixing means for fixing the toner image to a transfer paper by the heating means, a rush current reducing means serially connected to the heating means and prepared for reducing the rush current, and a low power consumption mode for stopping the heating means at a standby time, the device is provided with a control means for carrying out a prescribed program (6) and shifting a mode to the low consumption mode in the case of the image forming operation that sheets equal to or above the prescribed number of sheets are printed in a prescribed period is completed (5), then, the rush current is reduced without increasing the number of thermistors for reducing the rush current applied on the heating means as compared with that in the conventional practice. |
