<p>PURPOSE: To enhance the reliability of analytic data by composing the surface of a material touching SO2 gas of an SO2 gas resistant material. CONSTITUTION: Upon starting analysis, impurities are removed from a carrier gas through a purifier and oxygen is fed from a gas pipe 7 through a joint 6 of gas pipe to a lance pipe 1 in a dust trap housing 10 thence to a crucible. A sample is then subjected to high frequency combustion from the outside of the housing 10 and oxidation proceeds. SO2 gas extracted through the oxidation is passed through a filter 3 in the housing 10 in order to remove dust of oxide produced through combustion before being fed through a joint 8 of gas pipe to a gas pipe 9 for an infrared absorber. When the part touching SO2 gas is coated with an SO2 gas resistant material, e.g. 'Teflon' resin, reaction between SO2 gas and the touching part is eliminated perfectly and fluctuation in the analytic data is suppressed thus enhancing reliability of the data.</p> |
