摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To suppress pixel defect by providing a protective element without taking an external size of a liquid crystal cell large and reducing insulation breakdown of a driving element occurring in an optional position of pixel arrangement. CONSTITUTION: A part of a first conductive body layer 7 being signal wiring is made a lower part electrode, and a driving MIM element consisting of the lower part electrode, an insulation body layer 8 and an upper part electrode 11 is formed on an element side substrate 23 between a pair of substrates disposed to face oppositely while holding a liquid crystal layer 21 therebetween at every pixel. Another part of the first conductive body layer 7 is made the lower part electrode, and a protecting MIM element consisting of the lower part electrode, the insulation body layer 8 and the upper electrode 13 and insulation broken down according to priority than the driving element is formed on the area 12 of the first conductive body layer 7 downward a second conductive body layer 9 being a reflection plate used also for a pixel electrode in the vicinity of the driving MIM element. Although the driving MIM element is connected to the second conductive body layer 9 through a contact hole part 10 provided on an organic insulation body layer 16, the protecting MIM element is not connected to the second conductive body layer 9.</p>
