A closure device for closing an opened carbonated beverage can has a seal (18, 37, 37a) which seals around the rim of the can (22). The seal is pulled down onto the rim of the can by a part of the device (10) which engages under the bottom of the can. The device may comprise a cap (12) and a base (10) which together form an enclosure into which the can may be placed, and the walls of the enclosure may be insulated to keep the can and its contents cool.
