<p>The invention relates to a tape measure with automatic retraction of the tape. The measure comprises a casing preferably formed of two shells and provided with a slot for exit of the said measuring tape (4), which is wound on a spool (3) connected to a spring for returning the tape (4). The tape measure comprises, according to the invention, a device (2) for braking the tape (4), composed of a piece having a part acting as a button passing through any part of the casing (5) in order to be accessible from outside, and at least one shoe (2) braking the action of the said spool (3) by friction when the button is actuated. <IMAGE></p> |
