摘要 PURPOSE: To detect accurately a black edge part by detecting a pixel at the border of a black edge part and a base part based on the edge detection result by an edge detection means and a pixel color decision result by a pixel color decision means. CONSTITUTION: An edge detection section 1 of a black edge detection section inputs M, C, Y signals based on a signal obtained by reading a color image by a scanner and outputs edge detection result. An image color decision section 2 inputs the M, C, Y signals and outputs pixel color decision result. A result synthesis section 3 inputs the outputs of the detection section 1 and the decision section 2 and outputs the black edge detection result. The synthesis section 3 is provided with a black edge detection section 31 and an edge adjacent blur pixel detection section 32. The detection section 31 decides whether or not a noted pixel is a black edge pixel based on detection data ed(E, N) inputted from the detection section 1 and pixel color decision result data Cld inputted from the decision section 2. The detection section 32 detects a pixel at a border between the black edge part and the base part based on the black edge detection result from the detection section 31 and the pixel color decision result from the decision section 2 to detect accurately the black edge part.
