PURPOSE: To enhance protection of information after mounting or demounting by providing a mechanism for locking automatically at the time of mounting or demounting thereby limiting to enable or disable reading/writing of information. CONSTITUTION: An amplifier 15 and a mechanism driver circuit 16 are connected through a switch circuit 17 with a connector B. The switch circuit 17 is connected with an eject detection mechanism circuit 18 for detecting ejection of a cartridge 14 from a computer body 12 and controlling a lock mechanism 19. In response to detection of ejection, the lock mechanism 19 locks a switch circuit 17 in an interrupted state which is eventually released by means of an unlock unit 20. The unlock unit 20 collates the conditions being set by a lock unit 21, e.g. a dial key, and the content of a ROM 22 and commands unlocking upon matching thereof. A safety means, i.e. a lock disable switch 23, for disabling the lock mechanism 10 interrupts the switch circuit 17 when the auto-lock is turned OFF and the cartridge 14 is ejected. |
