Method for pumping an effluent produced by a shaft drilled in a geological formation, in which means of pumping (3) comprises a rotor (24) and a stator (27) are placed at the bottom of a column (2) submersed in the effluent and with the following stages: (a) the rotor and diffuser (23) are fixed to one end of a tube (12) wound on a drum (33); (b) the rotor and diffuser are lowered into the column, with the tube unrolling from the drum; (c) the rotor is placed in the stator and the diffuser is placed next to the pump outlet; (d) the tube is rotated to activate the pump. A pumping system for an effluent as above is also claimed.
