The machine has a raised store (1) holding the balls which is extended by an inclined ramp (3), in a frame (4). A chute (13) is joined to the frame by one end and receives a ball from it. The chute pivots between a raised position and a lowered position, with its free end (16) vertically above the tee. A flap (19) is joined to the end of the chute near the ramp. When the chute is raised the flap passes under it allowing a ball to roll towards the chute. The flap closes the ramp when the chute is lowered.
