The invention relates to a filter material as well as a process for removing components from gas mixtures and liquids wherein a flow of gas or a liquid is brought into contact with a filter material made of a porous polymer. The porous polymer is formed from homogenous solution by phase inversion. The filter material works selectively and can be used especially for removing ozone, hydrogen peroxide, nitrogen oxides, halogens and organic peroxides from gas flows and liquids.
