PURPOSE: To provide a film viewer which allows a film loaded into a cartridge to be readily seen and has a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A main body case 44 is provided with a cartridge storage portion 54 and a film storage portion 64 with a window portion 62 provided between the portions 54, 64. A spool driver 58 that locks with a spool is projected from the bottom of the cartridge storage portion 54, and a holding roller 68 is provided adjacent the spool driver 58. The spool driver 58 and the holding roller 68 can be rotated by means of a knob 48. The window portion 62 is provided with a light source for illuminating a film. When a cartridge 12 is inserted into the cartridge storage portion 54, the spool driver 58 is locked into the holes of the spool. The picture frames 18 of the film 16 can be observed through the window portion 62 by turning the knob 48. The film 16 loaded into the film storage portion 64 curls itself.
