MOTION VECTOR SEARCH DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE: To simultaneously perform the search of the motion vector over a wider range by the same number of processor element by providing an intermediate register storing the picture element value of the search window between a processor element and a processor element and arranging the register by reducing the density for the picture element within the search window of the processor element. CONSTITUTION: Between a processor element PE and a processor element PE calculating distortion, an intermediate register IP storing the picture element value of a search window is arranged and the register is arranged by reducing the density for the picture element within the search window of the processor element PE. Thus, even if a search area is widened, the increase of hardware amount is suppressed and the attaining of the performance which is close to an all-point search method becomes possible. By a systolic array structure in which each processor element PE and an intermediate register IP are used, a parallel processing becomes possible in also a dispersed search.
