<p>In a machine for lasting heel seat and/or side portions of shoes, a gripper arrangement (400) is arranged at each side of the shoe support (20) for gripping and tensioning the shoe upper in a central region thereof. Each gripper arrangement (400) is initially positioned in relation to the shoe bottom under programmed control, both widthwise and heightwise of the shoe bottom, and in addition during the tensioning of the shoe upper movement of the gripper arrangement both inwardly and, if desired, toewardly can be achieved again under programmed control. The initial position of each gripper arrangement (400), furthermore, is determined according to the length of the shoe as measured and also according to whether the shoe is a left or a right.</p> |
