The invention describes an improved food processor which can act as a mixer, a blender or a liquidiser. The food processor is provided with an impeller (30) which may also be in the form of an Archimedean screw which causes a circulation to be set up in the contents of the food processor container (10) such that the material to be processed is constantly being drawn into the impeller (30) and thus homogenised. Where a blade assembly (41) is located at the base of the impeller, the processor becomes a liquidiser.
