The column includes relays, contactors and indicating units, which show the operational position and the power taken. Plug connection boxes are provided respectively for low current and for power arranged at a body corrected height, also cables with suitable connectors for plugging to the electric vehicle. Protective covers are provided for safety purposes. A unit (e.g. 9 or 10, 15, 18) is provided for the protection of the region (7a) near the plug, or the vehicle side connection cable or cables (7), against arbitrary free hanging down from the body corrected height (H1 or H2) of the plug box system (5 or 6) along the stand (3). ADVANTAGE - Column mfd. with simple and cost effective means. Gives max. passive safety and optimum active safety, with exclusion of hazard to user and general public and with min. possible damage to vehicle components, e.g. cable connections.
