The device has a lifting carriage (23) with square-profiled shaft (4). The bearing arrangements to support the flanged pulley (5) located on the shaft, are formed by track rollers which are supported on opposite sides of the shaft.The toothed belt (16) passes over two flanged pulleys (6). The flanged pulleys have a smaller dia. than the pulley on the shaft. A belt tensioner is located at one end of the lifting carriage.
