The hood has a body (2) with one or more suction openings (5) on its rim (4), as well as a connection (3) for an extraction fan (8). An impact plate (6), which may be heated by equipment (10), is fitted to the region surrounded by the rim openings.The heating equipment may be inside the impact plate, and may be electrically operated, and circuit, if necessary in order for the heating level to be altered to suit the throughput of an adjustable fan. The heating level and throughput may also be adjusted so that the temperature of the impact plate remains above the dewpoint.
