Method of erecting curved support structure

The support structure is made from prefabricated straight rods and prefabricated secondary elements. The rods (2) are brought to the assembly point, arranged as required and attached to fixed load bearing supports (8). The rods are then deformed by an assembly machine resiliently into the curvature which the finished support structure should take, but as an unstable intermediate phase structure held by the assembly machine.The secondary elements (6) are installed into the intermediate phase structure to stabilise it in the finished curved design. The assembly machine is then removed. The straight rods are displaceable at the assembly point on the load bearing supports.
