The invention concerns an implantable device designed to release active substances to plants. The device takes the form of a ceramic article containing pores, the active substances being distributed in open pores. The volume of the pores at the time the device is implanted is such that the pores are capable of containing all the active substance to be administered, the type of total porosity and the pore volume, size and distribution being fixed within predetermined limits.
